Group Sounds — 1960s Japanese beat groups. Organ, matching suits, a chorus that still sounds like one band.
Garage — Fuzz and Farfisa, short and loud. Dance-floor stomp without the pop polish.
Psychedelic — The same organ and fuzz, stretched. More swirl, longer sustain, less hurry.
Surf — Instrumental reverb and twang. No vocal to hide behind — the guitar carries the weather.

The sit stays in Japanese garage-psych and what sits next to it: 1960s Group Sounds, THE BAWDIES for no-organ swing, Kikagaku Moyo for the long stretch. Not a GS-hits dump. Listen in order. If nothing clicks, the room isn’t yours.

Why these cuts

01 · キノコホテル — ゴーゴー・キノコホテル

Opener has to be short and already dancing. 2:27 Farfisa stomp, modern GS revival — the door. Leaves a beat so 1967 can arrive as a date jump, not a genre jump.
02 · ザ・モップス — 朝まで待てない

1967 GS single after the revival cut so the sit has a source. Same dance-floor grammar, older recording, slightly more psych in the organ. Origin weather, still a single.
03 · THE BAWDIES — HOT DOG

First no-organ cut. THE BAWDIES R&B garage, faster swing than the Farfisa rooms. Proves the lane can move without the hotel keyboard. Cannot follow with another BAWDIES or the pair clumps.
04 · The 5.6.7.8's — Woo Hoo

Shortest cut, 1:59. Surf shout, twin guitar, dance-floor reverb. After swing, a yell — western-facing door of the same lane. Then the sit has to return to GS or it becomes a surf set.
05 · ザ・ゴールデン・カップス — 長い髪の少女

1968 GS pop-garage after the surf shout. Yokohama house-band polish — chorus and organ back. Hands a single forward instead of another instrumental reverb cut.
06 · つしまみれ — SHOT YOU

Modern trio, dirtier, less Farfisa. つしまみれ as grit after the polished 1968 single. Faster punch so the next GS plea can feel tight instead of soft.
07 · ザ・テンプターズ — 神様お願い

Shortest GS single, 2:16, tight 1968 beat, no psych stretch. After the dirty trio this is a chorus, not more grit. Last short GS room before the sit has to lengthen.
08 · ゆらゆら帝国 — 空洞です

First real stretch. ゆらゆら帝国 organ-psych, 4:45, slower than every GS single before it. Tempo down, sustain up — the sit turning from dance-floor to swirl. Cannot follow with another ゆらゆら or the psych rooms clump.
09 · Kikagaku Moyo — Green Sugar

Longest cut, 7:54 folk-psych drone. After 空洞です the hour can hold a sit, not another single. Kikagaku Moyo as the long stretch. Then the arrangement has to snap or the rest of the tape is a drone encore.
10 · The Surf Coasters — Cyclone

Instrumental surf after eight minutes of drone. 2:24, Ventures-lineage twang, no vocal. Rhythm-section and length change together — a palate reset, still Japanese rock-adjacent.
11 · THE COLLECTORS — NICK! NICK! NICK!

1980s GS revival after surf. Beat grammar returns, later decade. THE COLLECTORS as a rewrite so the next 1966 cut is a date jump, not more reverb guitar.
12 · ザ・スパイダース — 夕陽が泣いている

1966 GS ballad-beat, polished, shorter than the 80s rewrite. Origin-era after the revival — same lane, older finish. Then the sit can go garage again without stacking two 60s ballads.
13 · THE BAWDIES — IT'S TOO LATE

Second THE BAWDIES, looser than HOT DOG, still no organ. Dance-floor after the 1966 polish. Last swing cut — next has to be psych or the closer half is a garage encore.
14 · ゆらゆら帝国 — できない

Same ゆらゆら帝国 album as 空洞です, tighter swirl, 4:21. After BAWDIES the sit needs organ-psych again, not a third garage stomp. Different cut from the hollow one so the return is a handoff, not a replay.
15 · Kikagaku Moyo — Kogarashi

Second Kikagaku Moyo, shorter and more melody than Green Sugar. Caps the psych spine. After this the sit has to change instrumentation or it becomes a solo set.
16 · キノコホテル — 五次元Surfin'

Bookend: same キノコホテル door, surf weather. 4:10 — Farfisa on a reverb wave, longer than the opener. Closes the organ/guitar thread in a different register. Not another GS single.
