Jigoku · 地獄

The far bank. After death the road is called 死出; the river is the Sanzu; Enma still sits; the first hells have names — Sai no Kawara, Hari no Yama — before the pit that does not open. Japanese Buddhist Jigoku as one sit, not a lullaby titled 地獄. Stay in the current. Listen in order. 人間椅子 knows the map; the rest of the hour stays on that bank.

人間椅子 is the map — six cuts, but the only three-in-a-row is the opening road (死出 → 川 → 河原). 陰陽座, DIR EN GREY, and Boris keep the same bank without a 地獄-title dump; that lullaby is the opener on 自業自得. Doom-lane Japanese metal as one walk. Listen in order. If nothing clicks, the bank isn’t yours.

Why these cuts
  1. 01 · 人間椅子 — 死出の旅路の物語

    Longest opener, 7:41, slow doom walk. 人間椅子 at full length so the sit starts as a path, not a door slam. Cannot open on the seed river or there is no approach.

  2. 02 · 人間椅子 — 三途の川

    Seed track second, not first. 6:09, still 人間椅子, slightly more song than the road. The walk has to arrive at a named current before the bank changes era.

  3. 03 · 人間椅子 — 賽の河原

    1990, rawer than the two later 椅子 cuts. Third in a row on purpose — same band, different decade, so the opening triple is an era change, not one-album stacking. Last of the only 人間椅子 three-in-a-row.

  4. 04 · 陰陽座 — 羅刹

    First non-椅子. 陰陽座 theatrical folk metal, 5:46. After three 椅子 rooms the sit needs a different singer and more pageantry — wardens as a timbre change, not another 椅子 riff.

  5. 05 · 人間椅子 — 地獄裁判

    Back to 人間椅子, but 4:38 — shorter, more riff than the 7:41 road. After theatrical 羅刹 the court needs mass, not another beauty cut. Mid-length so the next room can drop.

  6. 06 · DIR EN GREY — Bottom of the death valley

    Only DIR EN GREY. 5:50, harsher vocal, less folk-metal air. The pit as an attack change. Cannot follow with another extreme cut or the bank becomes a different sit.

  7. 07 · 人間椅子 — 針の山

    Shortest 椅子, 3:29, 1990. After the pit the sit needs a named-hell punch, not another six-minute dirge. Cuts runtime — pointed, then leave.

  8. 08 · 陰陽座 — 組曲「黒塚」～鬼哭啾々

    陰陽座 suite movement, 5:03, more theatrical than 羅刹. After a short 椅子 riff the hour needs sections again — oni as arrangement, not a second DIR EN GREY pit.

  9. 09 · 人間椅子 — 地獄大鉄道

    人間椅子 again, 4:42, mid-tempo. After the suite the current has to keep moving — a riff with forward motion, not another theatrical room. Last 椅子 before the low-end exit.

  10. 10 · Boris — あくまのうた

    Only Boris. Stoner-doom, 4:01, more swing than folk-metal. After six 椅子 maps and two 陰陽座 rooms the sit needs a different low end or it is a 人間椅子 primer. Still the bank, not a PINK-era volume swell.

  11. 11 · 陰陽座 — 睡

    4:54 陰陽座 lullaby. Longer sustain than あくまのうた so the sit ends on sleep, not a stoner hook. Same 夢幻泡影 family as 煙々羅 (the 雪女 closer) but this is the Sanzu dissolve. Bookend to the 7:41 road: walk in, sleep out.
